Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is now two applications

Glance at Past

In 2016, Microsoft unified its different systems and made them a part of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications family and  adjusted their names. Hence, “Microsoft Dynamics AX” became “Microsoft Dynamics for Finance and Operations”, and “Microsoft Dynamics NAV” became “Microsoft Dynamics Business Central”.

Promising Change

Now, when all the different systems are unified into a single Dynamics 365 platform, Microsoft announced one more important change in Dynamics 365 application structure. Caring for users, the change makes it easier for companies to choose the right modules according to their business needs. Thus, “Microsoft Dynamics for Finance and Operations” is separated into two different applications “Dynamics 365 Finance” and “Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management”. Microsoft promises it will offer more flexibility when adopting different capabilities for different businesses.
